SAFIR has been developed from the beginning as a tool for modeling the behavior of structures subjected to the fire. The link between the thermal analysis and the structural analysis is thus quite straightforward. This code is founded on high performance finite elements, yet it runs on quite ordinary Windows based PC. Starting with version 2022, the recommended preprocessor is GmSAFIR. GmSAFIR is free and open source. Developments for use of the former preprocessor, GiD, are discontinued.

This Demo licence is similar to the academic license, except the Demo version has limited functionnality. Otherwise, demo license grants you a lifetime right to use SAFIR demo version, for use in research and publications. No commercial use is allowed. As soon as you get this email, you can connect to your account on Gesval (https://www.gesval.be/en/register/edit), click on the « licenses » tab, and find the links to download : (1) SAFIR, and (2) your personal « identity.key » file (see screenshot below).
